It is a large sign and glows with soft light in the park. Many visitors take snapshots on the front of the sign night and day. It can also be viewed from Santa Monica Blvd (route 66). According to the news the Lily pond will be constructed at the sign.

Yayoi Kusama's sculpture

The sculpture was installed about five years ago, and I often saw it in the daytime. It was only recently that I noticed the sculpture illuminated after dark. It created a quiet and a relaxed atmosphere although it was near Santa Monica Blvd with a lot of traffic.

Rodeo Drive

It is getting warmer day by day in the LA area. According to the weather forecast a heat wave will come this week.

On Rodeo drive several stores have been remodeled in these past months. Especially on weekends the area was filled with tourists. In the twilight the street was spangled with lights.

Flowers in the park

It’s getting warm day by day. A haze often lay over the hills. The weather forecast showed a chance of rain this weekend.

I felt the rhythm of the seasons in the park recently. Some plants came into full flower, and a butterfly fluttered about. And some plants bore new leaves, too.

LA Marathon 2013

The 28th ASICS LA Marathon returned this past Sunday. It was a nice day and many spectators lined along the streets to cheer runners up. The route was named “stadium to the sea” again, and went through several cities around LA. Runners could see a variety of iconic landmarks and feel the diversity in town.
