October is "Dates Month." A date fruit is the product of a date palm. In California several regions have a climite suitable for growing date palms. There are various kinds of dates with different flavors. I heard that they had high nutritional values.
I went to an event "Inside the Writers Room " at the Paley Center. The program was "Family Guy" which airs on FOX television. The creator and writers talked about processes of producing characters and episodes. They looked like playing catch ball and squash with their words instead of a ball for developing ideas.
An event "Shajutsu"show was held at Writers Guild Theater. Mr. Kimura performed storytelling with an outstanding sense of humor, showing pictures taken by him in daily life. The audience enjoyed over 200 stories/pictures. I will try to find out hidden treasures for fun more when I take a walk around!
Beverly Hills Showcase presented Debbie Reynolds show with Master of Ceremonies Dick Van patten at Roxbury Park Community Center. Ms. Reynolds, actress/singer and an Oscar nominee, performed comedy & song with piano accompaniment. She also sang, showing several film clips, such as Singin' in the Rain, in which she played.
