LA Marathon 3

 

I was so impressed to see a lot of runners wearing clothing bearing the national flag of Japan as well as messages to Japan.  There are still on going media reports of the recent disaster in Japan and asking of public support for relief to Japan.  I saw that a lot of people took a variety of actions for it in the USA.

The participants came from many different countries, so it had an international involvement.  A lot of runners wore clothing their national flags as well as some runners also carried large flags for display.  The runners showed their friendship and mutual respect for each other even though they were competitively running.

LA Marathon 1

 

The 2011 Honda LA Marathon was held last Sunday with participants running from Dodger Stadium through Chinatown, Little Tokyo, Downtown, Hollywood and Beverly Hills to Santa Monica.  According to the news over 20,000 runners participated even though the running conditions involved cold temperatures, rain, and wind.  I cheered for the runners together with other spectators along Rodeo Drive for five hours.

Super Moon

 

The full moon on March 19th, 2011 was called "Super Moon."  It appeared bigger and brighter than usual.  It was cloudy that night. so I was looking for the moon while taking a walk.  At last I saw the moon breaking through clouds.  I took photos of the super moon together with city hall.
