Halloween 2011

I looked around about Halloween decorations in town.  A lot of chocolates and decorations with Halloween colors were displayed at the Teuscher store.  I saw kids and adults dressing up costumes with pumpkin lanterns this Halloween weekend.  They seemed to go out for traditional events.  According to a local news report angry birds costumes were popular for Halloween this year.  I wonder if I could see them at the annual carnival in West Hollywood.

Go Normans!!

On an autumn day I went to a BHHS football home game.  While watching the players doing their pregame warm-ups I knew the sun was setting by the color change in the sky.  It got cold after dark, but the BHHS marching band presented a live performance to warm up fans crowding the stands prior to the game.  Then the fans saw the players run at full speed on the opening kickoff.

Mary Blair

I saw a Google Doodle for Mary Blair's 100th birthday last week.  To learn about her work I went to an event " The 17th Marc Davis Celebration of Animation: Mary Blair's World Color - A Centennial Tribute" at the Avademy.  The event featured panel discussions moderated by Charles Solomon and film clips including "Cinderella," "Alice in Wonderland" and "Peter Pan." Alice Davis and Maggie Richardson shared their memories of Mary Blair.  Today's leading animators (Pete Docter, Michael Giaimo, Eric Goldberg, Susan Goldberg and Daisuke Tsutsumi) talked about her influence on their work.
