The concert series “Music in the Mansion” came back to Greystone Mansion after its renovation. A live music performance is followed by a reception and a tour of the first floor of the mansion. During the tour I learned that the kitchen was used for the films “The Bodyguard” and “Spider-man III.” I also got an idea of which room was used for a scene in another movie “The Social Network.”
Recently I heard the announcement on the radio that April was National Poetry Month and that April 17 was National Haiku Poetry Day. Various celebrations were held in a number of U.S. cities. To compose a haiku I walked around the park where there were many themes such as nature and forms of life (e.g., insects, birds, plants, fish, amphibians, etc.) The pond reminded me of a famous haiku describing a frog.
April is “Fava Beans” Month this year according to the Farmers’ Market information. I went there to get seasonal produce and farm products. The market also featured food vendors, live music, pony rides and a petting zoo. If I saw the place from a child’s standpoint it looked like a wonderland. I thought that it’s time to explore the area and discover something new.
