What are Social Illnesses in Japan?
Participants picked up Aged Society, Solitary Death, High Suicide Rate, Autism, Poor Working Conditions, Unemployment, Poverty, Infringing Privacy, Collapse of Local Communities and Social Alienation.
There are a lot of dark sides in our society.
3 mummified bodies were found in Saitama city.
They thought to be starved.
They had not registered as citizens of Saitama city.
32,000 people said to be died solitary annually in Japan.
They did not request for help and might not know about the existence of social safety net.
A member insisted privacy and local community do not coexist.
We need community but we do not want to associate with our neighbors closely.
About 30,000 people commit suicide every year in Japan.
There are several reasons.
Economical reasons, depression, pain of disease, bully, broken heart, dismay and so on.
A participant said people in civilized countries or intelligent persons tend to choose the last resort.
I remember a friend of mine who is therapist taught me,” You should share the bad news with your bosses or colleagues. You should not burden for yourself only.”
Good society takes care of social bond and "es prit de corps".
We cannot live alone.
Just seeking for our personal happiness is no-no.
